Classroom Management Plan

I truly believe, that children who feel comfortable in a classroom, with the teacher and other students, perform better.  One way for a child to feel safe and secure is to provide my students in the ESL Program, with an excellent educational climate.  In order to do so, I have developed the following Classroom Disciplinary Plan, that will be in effect at all times.  If you have any further questions or concerns, please let me know.  If your child also needs any particular attention, please advise me in advanced.

CLASSROOM DISCIPLINARY PLAN: C.P.R.:

C = COOPERATION

Students will come to class prepared to work together, so that each and every class time is productive and enjoyable for all students, including the teacher.

P=PREPARATION

Students will come to class prepared in every way.  All necessary materials, texts, and assignments are to be ready so that all can fully participate.

R=RESPECT

Students will exert and practice those characteristics, which will make everyone feel special and welcomed in our classroom.  No child is allowed to make fun of another or use any slurred language towards anyone in the classroom.

INTERVENTIONS:

The ESL teacher will initiate the process, abiding by the following:

·                                  Speak privately with student about the inappropriate

·                                  behavior.

·

·                                  Schedule an after school appointment with student to

·                                  further discuss the problem(s) and possible solutions.

·

·                                  Call parent/guardian to discuss the problem(s) and

·                                  attempt alternative approach, while opting for

·                                  suggestions.

·

·                                  Schedule an appointment for a personal conference

·                                  with parent and student.

·

·                                  Refer to Principal in cases of severely disruptive

·                                  behavior, (i.e.,fighting, disrespect, or consistent

·                                  behavior problems) occurring over a long period of

·                                  time, that have not changed as a result of teacher

·                                  interventions.
