HOMEWORK

As a junior high student you are responsible for turning in all your work on time.  Late work will result in reduced credit.  If you do not have your homework on the day that it is due, you should fill out a DOG ATE MY HOMEWORK slip and turn it in.  You are expected to submit your homework the following day.  I will not accept late homework after three days.

INDEPENDENT READING:  You should be reading a book on your own at all times.  Independent reading builds fluency, increases vocabulary, and builds background knowledge.  Independent reading also helps create lifelong learners and readers.  Reading time is time well spent!

REBECCA CAUDILL BOOKS

We will be reading books from the Rebecca Caudill list of nominees for 2009.  All students who want to vote in February must read at least TWO books from this list.  These are great books and cover a wide range of topics.  I hope you will enjoy reading these books!

Visit http://www.rebeccacaudill.org/nominees/2009.htm  for a complete list of the books.
