Text Book: “Avanti Con L’Italiano” –Pauselli/ Morel, 2nd Edition

The students taking Italian at Leigh School have 38 minute Italian classes daily for 1 semester per school year. They begin in 6^th grade and continue through 8^th grade.

I would like to suggest some study hints for language students:

A. Memorization is the main task in learning a new language!

^{* Memorize short phrases rather than individual words.}

^{* Memorize not just the words, but the idea!}

^{B. Use your class time to the fullest!}

^{* Paying attention in class makes outside work easier.}

^{* Try to imitate your teacher’s pronunciation and speech patterns, and in so doing, form the necessary habits that will make you a successful language student!}

^HOMEWORK

^{Do your homework when it is assigned. Doing homework is key to helping you understand and practice the language. Just like soccer or playing the piano, daily practice in a language is a must to become a powerful player on the global field!}
