Welcome to the sixth grade at James Giles School.  This year will be a year of great challenges and opportunities for your child.  As your child matures physically, socially, and intellectually, she/he will be expected to assume more of the responsibilities for his/her own learning.  This will include keeping track of homework assignments and long-range projects, coming to class with proper materials, and developing study skills.

Be assured that Mr. Gruszka and I will work together in an effort to help your child reach his/her potential.  Our team approach is designed to assist your child to achieve success.  In addition, we encourage you to communicate with us throughout the year if there is any way we can better meet the specific needs of your child.  You may reach me via email at mmostyn AT norridge80.org. Occasionally news from our classroom will be posted on this site.  I encourage you to check back frequently to see what our class is doing at school.
