March There is a common expression people use all
the time when someone starts a new venture or is facing a difficult task,
“Good Luck!” I think we frequently
make our own luck. The children have worked
very hard preparing for the ISAT. They
should know what to expect and have no surprises. Fifth grade will be tested in reading on
Tuesday, March 2; Wednesday, March 3; Thursday, March 4; The math test will be given Friday, March
5; Monday, March 8; Tuesday, March 9; The expository writing will be given
Wednesday, March 10. The tests are
given the first periods of the morning followed by a regular school day. The students should make every effort to be
in school on time! For the students to do well, they should have
a good night’s sleep and a healthy breakfast.
Instead of saying, “Good Luck,” encourage them to do their best and
listen to instructions. Having your
support can have a great impact. Our
break is the week of March 29th and I wish you all a very well
deserved and relaxing week! There is
no school Monday, April 5th, and there are conferences on Tuesday, April 6th. Please continue to check your child’s
assignment notebook each night. All
assignments for the day are written in their notebooks. Graded papers that are brought home do not
need to be returned to school. I need
tests brought back to school signed by a parent, and then it will be given back
to you to keep. Any child that needs
extra help is free to come in at recess, before school, or after school. I do need notice so I can make sure I will
be in the room. I would prefer the
students to get an early morning pass from me so the office knows I am aware
this child has permission to be in the building. Concerning Parent Portal, I will have
grades updated within 5 days of the date that it is due. |
