Tests are administered on a regular basis in junior high.
Typically, your child will have one math test a week. There will
also be science, social studies, and language arts tests as well.
Please realize that your child should never say that he/she does not
have homework. Math exercises should be practiced each evening, as
tests are weekly. Science packets will be given in class and should
be studied for a minimum of fifteen minutes each evening. In the
language arts class your child will have spelling and vocabulary
words to master, along with concepts, novels and stories. Social
studies requirements include note taking in class and key concepts
to review.
The junior high department is very good about letting your child
know of upcoming tests, usually a week in advance. For many tests,
your child will be given a detailed study guide from the resource
department. It is important that your child utilize the guide(s)
given and study what is reviewed on the guide. Accommodations will
be made on tests in accordance with your child’s IEP. In addition,
all students have the option to complete tests in the resource room.
REMEMBER : AS WITH ALL STUDENTS, IF A CHILD DOES NOT STUDY, HE/SHE
WILL NOT BE SUCCESSFUL ON A TEST! |
