Here I have tried to gather useful resources to get you out and exploring art – art from our schools, and art from around the world. I’ll be updating the Classroom News monthly, so watch this space!

In the meantime, please plan a trip into Chicago to see a museum! (It’s Extra Credit!! And many trips are free !)

D.I.Y. Field Trips

Every year I conduct an informal survey of my students of all grade levels, to find out how many have been to a museum outside of a school experience. Generally one student has been to a museum on a trip that did not involve an organized group like scouts, etc. It’s less than 17 miles from Norridge to the steps of the Art Institute! Parents, take your kids! Kids, take your parents! Chicago has many world-class museums, many which offer free days.
