MAY BAND CONCERT
Dear Cadet and Concert Band Parents:
I
am pleased to announce that the members of the Giles-Leigh Cadet and Concert Bands will perform in our annual May Spring Concert.
The concert will take place on Thursday, May 10, 2012 at 7:00 PM in the
Cadet Band members will need to wear their normal black and white concert dress. Concert band members will need to wear their uniforms. Jeans, gym shoes, or sweat pants are not allowed.
Also at this time, I would like to mention that eligibleConcert Band members will be taking a field trip to Great America on Wednesday, May 23rd. Permission slips will be coming home soon
for all eligible band members. Graduation dates are set as well for the Concert Band. Please mark your calendars for Wednesday, May
30th for the Leigh graduation ceremony and Thursday, May 31st for the Giles graduation ceremony. These are mandatory performances
for Concert Band and part of your child’s grade. LEIGH 8th-GRADE BAND GRADUATES MUST COME BACK TO SCHOOL THE DAY AFTER THEIR GRADUATION
TO PERFORM IN THE GILES GRADUATION IN ORDER FOR US TO BE ABLE TO PERFORM SUCCESSFULLY!
The May 10th concert will mark the last time the Concert Band members will wear their uniforms this year. Therefore, the uniform shirt, cummerbund, black studs, and bow tie need to be turned in at school by Thursday, May 24th. The shirt must be dry-cleaned and delivered to school in a plastic dry-cleaning bag. They will be stored for the summer. Any lost articles or dirty shirts will constitute a fee imposed by the school.
