Dear Parents,

Below is a brief description of our Math Program. Please review the following with your child. If you have any questions please call at 456-8848 and leave a voice mail message and I will call you back as soon as possible.

Goals:

Grade 6

Proficiency in the four operations (add, subtract, multiply, divide) of whole numbers, fractions, decimals and integers. An understanding of real life applications of the above.

An understanding of basic Geometry Concepts, Perimeter, Area, and Volume.

The ability to understand and use simple Ratio, Proportion, and Percent to solve problems.

A working Knowledge of Statistics and Probability and their use in the world.

A confident and successful approach to Problem Solving.

Familiarity and general understanding of the basic concepts of Algebra.

Grade 7

All of the above.

A working knowledge of the concepts of Algebra.

The ability to write and use equations to solve concrete and theoretical problems.

Familiarity and general understanding of coordinate graphing and linear functions.

Grade 8

All of the above.

A mastery of the basic concepts of Algebra.
