Celano’s Page:“Soaring to Know”Just as an eagle
flaps its wings with great force to reach higher altitudes, we must stretch
our minds in order to know more. As your teacher,
I encourage you to think beyond the ordinary and to push yourself to work
beyond “basic expectations” so that you learn more and as a result “soar to
higher knowledge.” Some ways you
can work on the skills of reading and writing are the following: Read something
in addition to what we are reading in class every day. You could read a novel, a magazine article,
a newspaper columns, on-line articles, etc.
Just read, read, read! Don’t allow
one day to go by without writing.
Write a letter to a relative; type an email to a friend; keep a diary
or a journal in which you capture important events of the days; write and
explain one thing for which you are grateful each day. Just write, write, write! As always, let
me know if I can help with your academic pursuits.
