Video Notes
Our technology scope and sequence is made up of 13 sections. Not all sections are covered at every
grade level.
Video is section 9 of 13.
Video is a section included in grades 3-7.
The number of checklist items at each grade level:
3rd, 12 items
4th, 16 items
5th, 23 items
6th, 11 items
7th, 6 items
What type of items are covered in Video?
* power on and off a camcorder
* connecting camcorder to TV and computer
* camcorder zoom and wide-angle features
* creating a storyboard
* adding narration, music, and credits to video
Software:
Windows Movie Maker can be used to import movies into the computer from a digital camcorder and edit them. Windows Movie Maker is available on all computers in the Windows XP lab and mobile lab.
Hardware:
A digital camcorder is needed for this section. Camcorders should be checked out from the learning center.
These are also available for checkout from the learning center.
Each school has a limited number of these hardware items so be sure to reserve them through the library staff as early as possible.
Checklists can be found online at
http://www.norridge80.org/computer/ChecklistCreator.asp
If you find a checklist item that you are unsure of what the intended goal
is you can refer to the sample lesson for clarification, refer to the
TechWorks teacher's guide, or let me know and I'll try to help find the
answer or help clarify. Items like "the student can demonstrate appropriate
behavior at the computer" or "the student can explain the basics of how a
computer operates" seem vague but the teacher's guide does give specific
items to think about when teaching these checklist items.
What about removing items or adding items to the checklists? Please make
note of any items that you believe should be removed or added to the
checklist on the checklists that you turn in at the end of each quarter. Approved changes will show up in the online checklists before the
start of the next school year.
Thank you,
Mr. Jobe
