What type of items are covered in Information Systems / CD-ROM?
* how to handle a CD
* how to insert and eject a CD

* process for burning a CD-R or CD-RW

* how to lookup books using the school library system
Software:
Any CD ROM, CD-R, CD-RW with some folders and text files, Word files, or .pdf documents on it can be used to complete the checklist items in this section. A single blank CD-R or CD-RW is needed for demonstration purposes (6th and 7th grade). Microsoft Word, Notepad, or Adobe Acrobat Reader (all three titles should be accessible from any computer) can be used to open and search through the target files on the CD.

Checklists can be found online at

This section has been heavily modified from the original TechWorks source and TechWorks sample lessons will be of little value.

If you find a checklist item that you are unsure of what the intended goal just let me know and I'll try to help find the answer or help clarify.

What about removing items or adding items to the checklists? Please make note of any items that you believe should be removed or added to the checklist on the checklists that you turn in at the end of each quarter. Approved changes will show up in the online checklists before the start of the next school year.

Thank you,
Mr. Jobe
